Thanks for all of the great comments and support. Davey - that sounds like an interesting idea, we'll see if we can make it happen! Thanks for all the love, support, and good associations. I appreciate it and so does James.

I'd be interested to hear some backstory on Jake and James' relationship. How you ended up doing this cross-continental show. Jake's comment that he is no longer interested in psychedelics for himself got that train of inquiry rolling for me, not that it would necessarily be a major theme in whatever story you have. Now that I think of it, it would also be interesting to hear something of the behind the scenes process that brings us appreciative listeners the dosenation podcast.

Very interesting talk. I'm also like you, James, in that I probably don't get enough deep sleep because I spend too much time in the REM state. I also get those "anti-social" visions you spoke and it's funny and a little bit of a synchronicity ;) you mentioned it because I had one just last night. Also, when you mentioned that book The Dream Drugstore, you said it was by Joseph LeDoux, I'm guessing you meant J. Allan Hobson since that's who appears to have actually written it, haha.

Oh and Jake asked a question "things start to come out of the silence, well where do they come from" around 53:20 and it seemed you like you totally did not answer him.

Great neuro-description of how the gates to the unconscious/ hippocampus are opened to the inspection of the PFC/ conscious ego for the purpose of higher neuro-plastic integration. This is of course the goal in psychotherapy. And this understanding answers Jake's question of why anyone would want to put themselves through such an ordeal. Ofcourse integration is not guaranteed, therefore the necessity of supportive set and setting. In my own explorations, I've integrated meditation practice with psychedelics, therefore experiencing full integration almost every trip, with a consequent sence of healing and expanded awareness. I feel there is a place for research chemicals, but for serious explorers of mind that have adequate training ; not for careless uninformed tripping just to 'trip out.' Just like climbing a new route on a mountain; you want to train (know meditation, visualization, breathing, lucid dreaming , astral projection, etc) and prepare (set and setting) before embarking on the journey. It is dangerous, it's not for everyone, but it's there. These are amazing potential tools; keys that unlock different brain-mind potentials that can allow us to become meta-programmers of our re-imprintable brains. Anyways, just some triggered thoughts. Great talk guys!
