Interview with a ketamine chemist

An investigation into methoxetamine (3-MeO-2-Oxo-PCE), an arylcyclohexylamine ketamine derivative that has recently appeared on the research chemical market. By Hamilton Morris for Vice.

M. is one of the most respected chemists in his underground field. Singlehandedly, he has popularized and discovered numerous novel drugs for gray-market distribution. His most recent investigation of ketamine and its chemical variations produced a new dissociative anesthetic named methoxetamine, which has recently made its way into the nostrils and anuses of lay experimenters worldwide. Methoxetamine is an exemplary product of rational drug discovery; each of its atoms is the result of arduous study and consideration, all created independently on a minuscule budget. But the success of drugs like methoxetamine does not entail great profits for their inventors. Indeed, it is they who wring their hands most over the unknown fate of the chemicals they conceive. Herein we shall explore the great bioethical quandary faced by the underground medicinal chemist.

This is a cool dude, I hope this makes more lightbulbs in the head go off re: chemistry.
Also I find it funny the images associated with each one.

Waiting on Gacyclidine to become a common prescription medication as well.

Here is the email that I have been sending to every psychiatrist I can find:

My name is Ryan and I have been battling bi-polar depression for years. I have had suicide attepmts, alcohol/drug addiction, and the general feeling that I would never be a useful memeber of society. I had almost given up all hope when I decided to try one last attempt and began to self administer Methoxetamine (2-(3-methoxyphenyl)-2-(ethylamino)cyclohexanone). This has been nothing short of a miracle. I finally feel that I am a healthy thread of this human fabric, that there is hope, that life is not something to be endured, but embraced. I know that what I am doing may be frowned upon by some, as it so happen that I am taking a quasi legal substance I have obtained on the grey market with no medical proffesionals overseeing it, but I have no insurance and therefore no other options. I realize that at any time this compound may become scheduled and I really don't want to have to resort to robbing vetinary clinics so that I don't want to die anymore. I want to do whatever I can to help people see the light that nmda antagonist can be a theraputic tool that can save so many people. If only those in power would allow their prejudices to slip for one second they may see the light and hopefully with a combined effort more people can be exposed to the benefits of this treatment. Please feel free to contact me at rhubbard82@gmail.com I live in Houston TX but am willing to travel if necessary to help promote this cause. And please pass this along to anyone else in the psychiatric community that would respond positively. I will continue trying to spread this message and hopefully some real good can come out of this.

Wow, this is an absolutely amazing interview. Definitely worth reading through to the third page where he talks about the ethical burden in bringing novel drug to the market. This is like the flip side of the recent David Nichols article that was published in Nature.
