Mandelbulb: The Unravelling of the Real 3D Mandelbrot Fractal

Close up images from inside a 3D Mandelbrot fractal, or Mandelbulb. All I can say is this freaked my brain out. Nice work math!

those are amazing. thanks for sharing them :)

i love the idea of creating 3-D fractals...i think it would be really cool to see giant sculptures of some of these that you could walk through. fractal caverns...

and wow, if you imagine that thing is an ancient alien cave, it really does fit...

Oh my god if you look closely they are even made entirely out of sphincter shapes, hahaha....

More like cocks of the universe lmao

lol. Thanks for posting! Looks much closer to real psychedelic visions than 2D fractals.

I think that caption was in jest, because how else can you describe this photo? Looks to me like the liquid plastic soup my brain conjures up on mushrooms. All those little cauliflower bulbs are skulls and eye-sockets roiling over in a tomb of eternity. Yup.

The caption on that picture at the linked site says:
"This ancient half mile high cave still exists (now underwater) from a planet several billions of light years away from Earth. It was built by a (now extinct) intelligent race of beings who also discovered the 3D Mandelbulb we are witnessing on this page. Inside the cave however, lies - amongst other technological and mathematical secrets - the last remaining scroll which contains the much deeper secret of the even more incredible real 3D Mandelbrot formula (giant structures of that were also built at a later stage, but were apparently destroyed for reasons unknown). "

OOOOKAY. I'd like to believe that it exists (in which case, the cave would NEVER END.. can see why they would be destroyed lol)

Umm the earth is like four billion years old, how can we tell what is billions of light years away anyhow?
