End Prohibition: We Can Do It Again!
We just received this note from Tom Angell, Media Relations Director for Law Enforcement Against Prohibition:
I thought you might be interested in hearing about a group of cops, judges and prosecutors who want to legalize drugs and who put out a report this week saying that ending the "war on drugs" will boost our economy by at least $76 billion a year and will put dangerous gangs and cartels out of business.
This week is also the 75th anniversary of when we repealed alcohol prohibition during the Great Depression.
The cops' website is at http://www.WeCanDoItAgain.com.
There, you can check out the report and learn a bit more about the follow up we're trying to do to facilitate communication between citizens and lawmakers to bridge the disconnect between public support for for ending the "drug war" (Zogby say 3/4 Americans now agree it is a failure) and the seeming skittishness of politicians who won't touch this issue even though they agree behind closed doors.
There is also a Reuters Article on this issue published today.
Thanks!
