Michael Pollan talks about cannabis

Michael Pollan, famous for propelling the post-organic foodie revolution via his books _The Omnivores Dilemma_, _The Botany of Desire_, and _In Defense of Food_, delivers this lecture at UC Berkeley. It's about how cannabis has evolved with the aid of humans to better suit us, based on his chapter on cannabis from _Botany of Desire_.

"post-organic"? Maybe you haven't noticed, that the mere targets set by governments around the world for =how much of our land will be organic by year whatever= are a total load of kak, paltry little percentage amounts.

Additionally, they continue to plant and promote GMOs (about the least organic of all farming and growing), and some places - like the USA - have lobbyists trying to have what organic actually means, lowered to completely non-organic standards, so's they can brand things as 'organic' when they are not at all naturally grown.

Plus, and this happened in the US too recently, they've been granting ok's at government levels to using genetically engineered animals for meats.

He drifted in the end into a Terrance McKenna like appeal, though not for environmental or noospheric reasons. Referencing thc studies in foreign countries. Very astute. How do we get persuasive?
