Hershey's pulls 'cocaine-resembling' candy

The Hershey Co. said this week it will no longer make a breath mint that children's advocacy groups and law enforcement say resembles illegal drugs and could be "extremely dangerous" for young people.

In its conference call about the company's fourth-quarter earnings report, Hershey CEO David West said that while consumers were "very satisfied" by "Ice Breakers Pacs," "some community and law enforcement leaders have expressed concern about the shape of the pouch...and the possibility that it could be mistaken for illicit items."

Was it intended to sound like an allusion? ;)

Those breath films are all over, every brand has them. There are even Altoids strips. I highly recommend the cinnamon Altoids strips, they're super intense. Try like four at once... :)

OK, "cocaine candies" are off the market, but there's still a different kind of breath mints that may also look somewhat drug-like... ;) I still have a little box of Winterfresh Thin Ice at home - these are half-transparent pieces (2x3 cm) of some very artificial ;) melting substance with a minty flavour. I have actually never seen windowpane acid, but maybe it looks similar? Small, half-transparent... if it DOES look similar, Winterfresh is lucky that nobody associated their product with drugs. ;)
