Christians for Cannabis

Common sense rules in the land of fundamentalism:

As a Christian, I strongly disagree with the assertion, “not arresting people for drug possession is sending the wrong message” (Marijuana Possession Still Means Jail Time, Jan. 7, 2008). Cannabis (kaneh bosm / marijuana) isn’t a drug but rather a relatively safe God-given plant.

One reason to stop caging responsible adults for using cannabis that doesn’t get mentioned is because it is Biblically correct since Christ indicates He created all the seed-bearing plants, saying they are all good, on literally the very first page. The only Biblical restriction placed on cannabis is that it is to be accepted with thankfulness (see 1 Timothy 4:1-5).

Truth is, it sends the wrong message when government cages humans for using what God says is good.

Amen.

I doubt very much if the early Christians worshiped nature in the way you indicate. Also, the New Testament does have a few warnings against intoxicants, and approves of wine, but not being "drunken."
I think a government could rule fairly well if people worshiped the sun and moon (see Egyptians, Romans, most early civilizations).

Along with the fact that 2000 years ago hemp was everywhere! Used for everything, and I'm damn sure people were smoking it-they smoked just about everything else. The early nature worshiping Christians loved Cannabis Hemp so much they wrote the bible on it! My Mom who has never smoked pot, finally gave in to my claims, and said to me one day about 10 years ago, "well with the way things are going in the world right now, maybe your plant CAN save the planet." She's now a born again Christian, and still has never used marijuana. It's crazy to think that in another 30 years Cannabis will have been illegal for 100 years! I don't know if most people know, but the Japanese were a Cannabis loving society complete with bars for the ritual. This was all brought to an end after WWII when America said no, and made it illegal. I personally choose to call modern Christians- Roman-Christians because they aren't worshiping nature in it's entirety, they been brainwashed to worship man himself. If people worshiped the sun, moon, and the mushrooms how could a government ever rule? The tie in to marijuana being unacceptable to Christians is just one more of the tacked on rules that got added on recently-most likely in the 50's. I guess since alcohol and tobacco are legal then God must think they are acceptable. I really like the mushroom study with the Christians that was done not too long ago. In my opinion it shows just how cool America is, and can be. Where else in the world would things like this be taking place(other than Europe-what's the difference?)? Iraq? No- we are the most psychedelic country in the world. To have a scientific study with Christians and mushrooms is enough to make other religions and countries hate us even more;)

I used to hate Christians, but now the more psychedelic I get I realize the closer to Jesus and God I get. Does that make me a Christian?
I'm down with the amanita, psilocybe, cannabis Christ-WORD!
