From Post: Salvia Divinorum medical benefitsI had to post. I couldn't stand the ways people have been ridiculing themselves and disrespecting such a wonderful Goddess, that is the wise Ska Pastora.
For one thing, Salvia Divinorum is not a recreational drug, it is not the wise teacher you want to see it as. It is a mere tool, when used to enter altered states of conciousness. Salvinorin A and B have hallucinogenic properties. But Salvia Divinorum? Salvia is just a plant. When the day that the FDA and the scientific community decide that this plant might be useful to cure ailments, then it will be seen as medicine for the qualmish. Everything has health benefits, even cyanide. It just depends on the methods and quantities. And everything can be a poison as well, ditto. med chronic purist. : 2011-06-21 15:09:49

From Post: Ketamine depression relief linked to brain-derived neurotrophic factoralso interesting in a similar regard: the highly promising african root "synaptolepis kirkii" with its action on BDNF, is currently finding its way into the western entheosphere.

From Post: Jimmy Carter: 'Call Off The Drug War'You can have a hundred think tanks issue a thousand reports and none of it will matter until there is a major shift in the stance on the drug war by current, in office, American political leaders. There is virtually no sign of that - pandering to the fears of the ignorant has been highly effective since the Harrison Act. One could hope the US might be dragged into the light of reason by more progressive nations but on the drug issue, at least, no one wants to seriously challenge the American stance.

From Post: 'Synthetic highs' = big businessOr we could just legalize the drugs that aren't that bad for y-
Never mind, I think it's already determined they just won't hear that argument.

From Post: 'Synthetic highs' = big businessThis is dumb, "The race is on". Are you kidding me!? LMFAO. People will always will do what the hell they really want, knowing they can hide behind the anonymity of 5 billion people if they just don't break 'the big crime'.
Drug businesses who make drugs, will do the same. The drug war will always be a complete waste. Legalize, regulate, educate and tax.

From Post: Timothy Leary archive sold to New York Public LibraryIMHO it’s a shame it sat so long in storage and even more so that his website was killed. That being said, nothing can be done about the past other than learn from it. I am glad his archive will finally be available to the public. Hopefully it will be accessible online; if not at least researchers can draw from it. I am encouraging everyone to write the library requesting that it is made public online ASAP. So yes, good news indeed.

From Post: Jimmy Carter: 'Call Off The Drug War'You are only allowed to be against the war on drugs when you are not in office. To be fair, Carter came very close to making pot legal, but choked in the clutch. As a compromise he made craft beer legal to make.
