Countdown to 2012!

You know the singularity is truly on the schedule when Hollywood hires Michael "Transformers" Bay to film the story:

Variety confirmed the news, first reported on TMZ.com, that Michael Bay will direct the SF movie 2012, with writing/producing partners Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci adapting Whitley Strieber's upcoming book for Warner Brothers.
The story follows an academic researcher who opens a portal into a parallel universe and makes contact with his double in order to stop an apocalypse foreseen by the ancient Mayans.

Congratulations to Whitley Strieber for winning the race to cash the really big 2012 paycheck!

I'm so glad Strieber made the switch to writing fiction. Now I don't need to feel ashamed for liking him.
