In a never-ending spate of news items related only by their references to hot superstars and their fondness for partying and doing drugs, we are now forced to learn all about Britney Spears' passion for empathogens and psychomotor stimulants. To wit:
Amanda Alexander, the sister of Spears' first husband Jason, admits the singer's drug use dates back to 2003. She tells In Touch magazine, "When I was around her, she took Ecstasy."
Alexander also tells the publication she witnessed Spears using cocaine during a night out in her hometown of Kentwood, Louisiana. And another old pal, Kent Smith, who has known Spears for "at least 10 years," tells the magazine, "She does like to party... I've been there when she's done Ecstasy and cocaine."
Add this to our recent "shocking" discoveries about Anna Nicole Smith's drug use, Kate Moss' cocaine troubles, and the ongoing nastiness that is the trifecta of Paris Hilton, Nicole Ritchie, and Lindsay Lohan, and I say we have an epidemic of doped-up bombshells on our hands.
I blame the media. Or, possibly it is genetic. Because let's face it, when you are that hot you have a duty, nay, a
calling to get wild and party hard. How else can we explain all those videos advertised on late-night TV?
