Efterklang - 'Mirador'

For no apparent reason, please to enjoy this delightful animated video for a track called "Mirador," by the experimental post-orchestral band Efterklang.

Onion tidbit

The Onion has their Statshot bit, parodies of little trivia statistics. This one has a nice drug inside joke.

Video: Aqua Teen Hunger Force Theme - Metal Remix

This opening song is from the ATHF movie, included here for some if its campy psychedelic visuals. My personal favorite is the planet-eating specter of death that appears near the end, but Frylock and the gang all merged together like Voltron is pretty cool too.

For those of you following at home, compare and contrast with the classic Beavis and Butthead on Peyote clip, from their movie.

Melting walls, anyone?

Next year, visitors to the EXPO in Saragossa will be able to contemplate and even visit a building that brings a new meaning to the phrase "melting walls".
The building's walls will be literally made of water - little "waterfalls" spilling from closely spaced valves along the roof. When someone approaches the pavilion, suddenly the water curtain will disappear before him or her, allowing entrance. This will be possible thanks to a digital control system. Even images or texts can be "painted" on the walls by opening and closing the right valves.

I'll conclude with a joke that also can form a link between psychedelia and the idea of the Water Pavilion:

Three guys are walking around the city: one of them is on speed, the other one on acid and the third one on pot. Suddenly they find themselves in a dead end.
- Let's smash this wall! - says the guy who is on speed.
- Can't we just walk through it? - asks the one on acid.
- Come on, guys, let's go home! I'm hungry - the one who is on pot answers.

Mmm... pipe of madness...

As long as we're on the topic of smoking, you may as well enjoy this delightful Cthulhu "Pipe of Madness." "Just like Nyarlat'hotep used to smoke!"

Stephen Colbert on 'smokism'

Stephen Colbert reports on "smokism," the systematic discrimination against smokers. Our heroine: "a white, female, nicotine-addicted Martin Luther King," who points out the inherent injustice in making smokers so, uh, uncomfortable. And of course, Colbert asks such hard-hitting questions as, "So where did the cancer hoax begin?" (Hint: "It goes back to Nazi Germany.") Dig it:

Quickie Mart head shop

Some hard-hitting news here from Fox23 news in Oklahoma. It turns out that there's a convenience store that sells drug paraphernalia. They sent their news team to "investigate":

To some they're called "head shops." They are places that sell drug paraphernalia.

As an adult that might be the last place you'd take your kids or any youngsters in your care. But inside an area convenience store you can find a display that looks like it just came straight out of a "head shop." When parents complained to FOX23 News, we took a closer look.

Wagoner police say they received many complaints about the Shell gas station. People are concerned about hookahs with elaborate tubing, electronic scales, and brightly colored pipes in all different shapes and sizes.

Would you like a Squishee with your bong? Thank you. Come again!

Don't litter - it could cost you $54K

This one is pretty straightforward:

Sixty pounds of freshly cut marijuana (estimated street value of $54,000) found in plastic bags along road near Tampa, Florida.

Make sure to lock that truck door next time.

Rx drug dealing on CBS News

Katie Couric and Co. go in depth on the current wave of prescription drug slinging in Florida. Apparently, they have a big problem with licensed MD's selling scripts, and drugged-up people leaving their prescription narcotics out where kids can get readily addicted to them. Not a very interesting story, but Katie Couric? There's video... Caught on tape?
