Talk about a bunch of lopsided nonsense! Cannon had an agenda: do you realize how much 50G's was back then? SHE dragged out the child custody issues to also spite him. She was only mildly known on some dumb sitcom and has been riding Grant's coat tails, and money, ever since. There are NO police reports of ANY domestic violence during their marriage. Also. it was the 'Hippy' era, she was young and wanted to be out partying even though she had a new baby. THAT'S more likely why he 'took my car keys'. The supposed quotes of his trips are also HER version of things because his sessions w/ shrinks were protected. Geez people, if you are worried about how people view doses, then USE YOUR GOD DAMNED BRAINS and stop believing everything you read!!!!

@ Ventron: ok, i won't take your word for it. especially since i have several albums by this fellow all of which are lovely. i had no idea prior to seeing this video how he made all those odd little sounds, but i still found them beautiful and entrancing. i think it's kind of silly and elitist to be downing him because he is doing something unusual. no one here said it was groundbreaking (all i said was that the ebow on the piano was an original idea) and we all get the picture - you don't like it! geez, lol.

I've witnessed pharmacokinetic interaction between oxiracetam and ketamine allowing for more effective anaesthesia with lower motor dis-coordination.

Hey, don't compare me to that D-bag. Who in the hell burns records? And who said I was a musician? But I don't see anything innovative in this. TWENTY years ago and friend and I came into a piano body, just the metal frame and strings. Drumsticks, ball peen hammers, rubber mallets, and hooked up mics to the frame. Was a hammer dulcimer from hell. Woohoo! Micky Hart had nuthin' on us. I'm just seeing some buzzing going on here. How is that groundbreaking? Whatever. Don't take my word for it. Go and be inspired. I'll wait....

Better than the alternative but still seems excessively harsh.

I get the feeling that "Byron" and "Ventron" are the same person; possibly another musician who is frustrated that they are not on NPR and thinks this is a gimmick and is therefore "offended" by such "nonsense", hahaha. Poor silly little trolls, thinking they know everything and others know nothing. Anyways, thanks for sharing this. I for one, enjoyed it thoroughly :)

@Ventron: You sir are a cad of the highest order. You obviously don't know music if it kicked you in the knee. This is the most sublime, innovative, and fresh music to emerge in years. He certainly makes Glenn Gould look like an average hack. And Phillip Glass can go piss up a rope. I have gone and burnt all of my classical recordings, and will make a pilgrimage to seek out this amazing artist. I can't wait to see what new implements he will use next! Joy Buzzer? Hair Dryer? Mexican Jumping Beans? Oh, the mind reels at such daring!

@Greg

Yeah, and that happened to marijuana (cannabinoids) how long ago? That's released naturally in your brain.

Also, MDMA? pure MDMA is a serotonin releasing agent... serotonin occurs naturally in your brain...

I'm just pissed off that a board of old men can tell me what i CAN and CANNOT put in my body. what gives them the right? I own my body, they do not. If I choose to put something in it, its MY FUCKING CHOICE!

who cares WHAT he is using. he is still creating an interesting soundscape from ordinary things, which to me is very cool. but i enjoy experimental music, so i guess it's just a matter of preference. also, i have to say that i do not find his playing to be unimaginative at all, but just simple and natural. in fact, that's what i dig about it. i think if he were doing too much intricate work, it would take away from the soundscape developed here. just was surprised by how many critical comments i saw. because i thought this was one of the more pure, beautiful performances i have seen in awhile (and i see a lot of live music as well as play it).

From Post: Podcast: Globalhuasca Wisdom
A very relevant interview, I wish I could have heard it earlier! Touched on alot of things that I've been pondering, namely the commercialisation of ayahuasca ceremonies, the reduction from raw plant medicine to 'pharmahuasca' and the differences this may entail.

Towards the end, it was very insightful hearing Dennis' comments about Terrance's ideas - how different two close brothers can be, yet still share such a hopeful vision of the future!

I had always found the 2012 phenomenon and the Timewave a little hard to swallow, but of course, some of the best ideas have started this way and one must go into these things with an open, if a little circumspect, mind.

Also, if anyone is still not aware Dennis is trying to get support for a book he has proposed to write about his life with his brother, donations are half way there and if we can get the message out to others to support this with even a small donation we can all see that this project gets off the ground.

Yes I am, thanks for asking. The other thing he was using, the silver button with duct tape, is the business end of a vibrator. I will not comment on that. Now, I don't know how revolutionary this approach is, using vibrators and ebows, but if you want to make a didgeridoo out of your piano, then go ahead. Maybe I take a power drill and a rotary sander to mine and see how it sounds.

It's a shame someone with such imaginative prepared piano techniques is so unimaginative musically.

Ebows on a piano though! I wonder what they'd sound like on a harp...

@ drummerpianist: those things are called ebows. they are normally used with guitars, so this is a pretty unique and awesome idea i think. one i've definitely never seen before!
