I studied Lindenmayer Systems as a High-Shcool Math/Biology cross-project back in 2004.
I still have the book _The Algorithmic Beauty of Plants_ by Przemyslaw Prusinkiewicz and Aristid Lindenmayer, now out of print.

You still hear about it once in a while, like here, and it always moves me (nostalgia!!)...
