I think he makes a good point. Many people do want to experience dramatic shifts in perspective that rock their world and tend to overlook the subtle things they are being shown to them and the lessons that are being unfolded every step along their path. The irony is that oftentimes it is the more subtle and gradual perceptual shifts that are the most profound, transformative and enduring.
