OrganiCann compostable medical cannabis packaging

Today, The Organic cannabis Foundation, LLC (OrganiCann), the largest medical cannabis dispensing collective in Northern California, announced exciting new home compostable packaging.

OrganiCann's new packaging is made from certified-compostable film printed with water-based inks. The compostable film is made from sustainably produced wood. OrganiCann's packaging safely biodegrades in home or commercial compost. It will even biodegrade in a wastewater environment.

"At OrganiCann, we are committed to sustainability in everything we do," said Dona Ruth Frank, Managing Member of OrganiCann. "Whether it is how our medicine is cultivated, or how it is packaged -- we are continuously developing more environmentally friendly solutions."

Thanks Toije!

This is pure bs, just totally crap coming out of her mouth - since when was marijuana grown sustainably, except maybe in more remote and OUTDOORS kind of areas. Without insects for pollination, and collecting seeds for next season (very few people doing that nowadays!), then there is no sustainability involved, especially in light of the fact that she has her weed grown indoors...and she claims that, "At OrganiCann, we are committed to sustainability in everything we do," ....committed to continue lying to the public for profit is more like it. She should probably educate herself a bit more before she uses big words like "sustainability" without knowing what she's talking about. Making her packaging "sustainable" is a lot of hype to make herself look "green" - the only thing green about this whole thing is the money she wants to take from you.

The comments made by Frank are obviously false, and seem staged as to appear "green"; 'sustainably' growing cannabis indoors cannot be done, as per the description of the word "sustainable." The cannabis grown by the company for patient consumption has always been fertilized with non-organic fertilizers (the FloraNova series), so they fail here too, in providing their patients with accurate information. Always willing to take advantage of others through the manipulation of phrases and sound-bites, Frank is trying to create an image she simply does not have, and by definition cannot create. And that speaks volumes about what she really thinks about her customers intelligence; my apologies to everybody that has been taken for a ride on somebody else's ego-trip.

OMG, been doing business with these folks for about year and the monster finally reared it's ugly head! So unprofessional, I can't believe it. I bought 30+ SD clones from them. At least I thought and was told they were SD's Turns out 4 of them weren't. I kindly asked to exchange them and I was told that I picked them and sorry but buyer beware then to get the f**k out. You heard it folks 1.BUYER BEWARE. 2. GET THE F**K OUT, from the manager no less! Turned in my card and will be sure to share this experience with ALL my friends and family. WOW

A great example of a wasteful "green" initiative. The fact of the matter is, disposable packaging is not a green solution to this.

The real green solution is for patients to personal glass jars, and refill them. Drastically less waste, no wood harvesting, and no printing. Printing with water-based ink is still very toxic, it's just the end result is biodegradable.
