What happened to state's rights?
Originally, I thought all state law superceded federal ones.

I'm guessing if the IRS is involved they are looking for money laundering or failure to report income. Authorities like to go after low-hanging fruit, so there must have been a complaint or a red flag on this dispensary.

Of the many hundreds (thousands?) of dispensaries operating these days, only a very few have been busted. Obviously they could be raiding all day and night. What is it about these few that attracted the heat?

They always, always, ALWAYS SHOOT YOUR DOG.

They do it hoping you will give them a reason to shoot you.

Plus getting the IRS involved is a very old tactic. Some local governments have in the past passed taxes on the sale of illegal drugs (before legalizing them) knowing full well that coke dealers won't come down to buy a booklet of stamps (to place on the product proving they paid taxes on the blow), thus making them eligible for 25-year tax evasion sentences.

He promised to end the raids. However, Obama cannot break the law. The federal law is that marijuana is illegal, no exceptions. No matter what he said, there is nothing stopping them from prosecuting these cases.

The strategy lately is they've been trying to convict MMJ dispensary owners on tax evasion instead of Marijuana because it's way simpler and quicker to prosecute. That's why the IRS is involved and also why all the clubs started paying federal income tax claiming "t-shirts" or something instead of marijuana.

That's what I thought, thus the great pic I added for this entry. If he will lie about that, his word is worthless on everything else.

Didn't Obama promise to end that shit? Maybe I'm drastically oversimplifying things...
